(1) Attention should be paid to the installation position and exhaust direction of the local dust hood of the electric arc furnace. To study the dust generation mechanism, considering the scattering direction, speed and critical point, the local dust removal hood of the arc furnace dust collector should be aligned with the dust scattering direction. If a side-type or top-type dust extraction hood is used, the operator cannot enter the opening between the pollution source and the air hood.
(2) The local dust hood of the electric arc furnace should be as close to the pollution source as possible. To prevent a large amount of dust gas from escaping or a large amount of external air from entering. Under normal circumstances, a closed type or a hood type can be used to shield the pollution source. If the operation is impeded, the air collection hood can be installed on the side or top. Gases that are denser than air can be attracted below.
(3) Control the wind speed. The minimum wind speed required for harmful substances to flow into the opening of the dust extraction hood from the farthest point of the scattering limit is called control wind speed.
(4) The airflow form around the local dust hood of the electric arc furnace. If the airflow around the capture point moves rapidly, it will have a greater impact on controlling the wind speed. Therefore, the control of the wind speed will be reduced, so that the dust collection hood will lose its normal collection effect.
